It has been quite some time (again) but I thought I might pick up with my blog again as there are still some frequent and dear visitors ❤
I’ll start with introducing a new exklusive wrap from Girasol in herringbone weave for http://www.lichtmutter.de/shop. Herringbone weave is already so soft right when you receive it and it gets even softer after the first wash and use. It is already really easy to get a great wrap job without washing the wrap first, but you know that I always recommend a first wash before using it. The fibers will fluff up and the weave will become more dense…and it will get softer.
It is always amazing to see how the wrap changes with different wefts – often it is as if you have two completely different wraps, but in fact they are siblings. I would totally spend hours after hours at the weaving loom just to see what happens (if I had the time)
Just look at them – this is the same warp, but different weft (crema de nube vs azul pacifico):
And these are pics taken inside (without flash or filter). Just wait how tey chance some more if you go outside and if there even is some sun shining:
Azul pacifico (turquoise weft):
Crema de nube (white weft):
Both in direct sunlight:
There might still be two more wefts on the way and I can’t wait for the full comparison. By the way – do you remember Lady Amalthea from The last unicorn ? She was the inspiration for the wrap ❤
well….after 2.5 very busy years i start looking at the blog again and i’m surprised that there is still interest in it, that people watch my reviews every day and that it is being shared in the babywearing world.
there has happened so much and the blog hasn’t been my top priority with having leukemia to deal with. but i’m still here and i haven’t lost interest in wrapping. there have been so many new and also crazy things, new brands, new blends, new patterns…and also new and exciting blogs 🙂
i don’t know if i will continue with it or just leave it online like it is. i just want to thank you for your interest. keep carrying your loved ones and enjoy every minute of it ❤

5o% blue cotton, 50% turquoise linen
finally didymos released the first blue pfau. and this wrap is beyond gorgeous. it is with 50% linen and the first anniversary pfau pattern with a linen content. the colors of the wrap are really hard to capture and the pics don’t do the wrap justice.
i was staring the whole day at the wrap and the blue has some kind of purple undertone. the linen is a turquoise which shimmers like crazy. depending on the light the wrap sometimes seems to be blue-turquoise, sometimes purple-teal. i used it in a quick double hammock today with my daughter and it was very easy to wrap with but still supportive. it is nothing like the old pfau linen wraps, but more like the black hemp pfau which was released last year. can’t wait to geek some more on this wrap, but i’m so happy i did go for it.
i’d like to wish you already a wonderful and happy new year. tomorrow is the last day in 2012 and i was still having so many amazing and wonderful moments while wrapping my lovely daughter, meeting other people, writing this blog, testing wraps,…wrapping really made a difference this year – again and for more than 9 years now.
i wish you many many beautiful wrapping moments with your loved ones in 2013 and would like to share the annual report with you. see you next year ❤
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
19,000 people fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. This blog was viewed about 81,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

this is already the third official didymos india release, but i will start with reviewing them because they are so especially gorgeous. india is a design from erin arnason from the usa that didymos has been woven (just a quick but important notice – be sure to hear and see much more from her and i bet it will all be amazingly beautiful. check out pavo textiles now and then)
india stonegrey with wool was released somewhen in the night and as far as i know only one retailer got the wraps. india is so soft in feel, on the thinner to medium side and beyond beautiful. i will get measurements soon, but please enjoy the pics together with india in anthracit, gold, natural (with 40% tussah silk) and the heavy-weight india natural 50% hemp:
