indio pinus with 30% alpaca

release date: 12/20/2011
limited release in size 4, 5, 6, 7 and doll wrap
price: 129 € for a sz 6

what a surprise ! as a green lover i was more than just excited to see todays new release: indio pinus with 30% alpaca. this wonderful wrap consists of 30% anthracit baby alpaca wool and 70% green cotton threads. it reminds me a lot of 50% linen indio yew and i cannot wait to make some comparison pics with both wraps side to side.

didymos said that it is comparable with indio zyklam alpaca and as i know that this thin wrap still works great with my nearly 3 year old kid i’m more than optimistic that it will be a great wrap for us two green eyed girls.

measurements on a sz 6 post-wash are:

length:  m
width:  m
weight:  g
->  g/m
->  g/m2

and yes – a lot of english speaking people are having a giggle at the name. but let me tell you, that the ‘i’ in pinus is a bit longer pronounced and the ‘u’ is slightly different too…so there shouldn’t be any confusion…hehehe.

comparison with other green indios (indio tri-green, indio zeder, indio efeu, indio erba hemp, indio yew linen, indio pinus alpaca):

jules 45% alpaca

release date: 12/15/2011
limited release in size 6, 7 and doll wrap
price: 149 € for a sz 6

jules is a 45% baby alpaca/55% cotton double face wrap. the baby alpaca is a light powder pink and the cotton threads are anthrazit. it is the first alpaca double face wrap (the other double face wraps are with 50% linen or all-cotton).

unfortunately i cannot give a full review on this wrap as i only got a scarf aka doll wrap for me. i have washed it once and i’m surprised as it is not as soft as other baby alpaca wraps that have been released recently. but maybe it just needs some more use to get another supersoft wrap.

here is a comparison pic with another anthracit/puder colored wrap: jim anthrazit/puder with linen under jules

and jules with audrey with wool as a more recent release:

indio purple 30% alpaca

release date: 12/06/2011
limited release in size 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and doll wrap
price: 119 € for a sz 6

this tri-colored indio is the younger brother of indio lavanda. indio purple is made of 70% purple cotton and 30% light pink and dark anthracite baby alpaca wool.

right out of the box is already soft and it will soften up even more after the first wash. the color is really hard to capture on pics and i’m not totally satisfied with these pictures as well. it is a nice, dark and elegant wrap and it really depends on the angle you are looking at it and on the light. the purple is not that prominent like in other purple didymos wraps, but more toned down due to the anthracit alpaca wool.

measurements on a sz 6 post-wash are:

length: 4.86 m
width: 0.67 m
weight: 620 g
-> 127.57 g/m
-> 190.41 g/m2

comparison between indio lavanda and indio purple:

indio marmorgrau / marble grey, 40% linen

release date: 04/24/2007
limited release in size 6, 7 and more ?
price:  € for a sz 6

today i got a four year old didy with 40% linen in. at first i did not know which wrap it is (it was sold as an all cotton natty indio to me), but i knew it was bought in 2007. the white/green didymos tag shows that it is a 40% linen wrap and from comparisons with other pics it can only be indio marbel grey.

first impressions: woooow, this is a really thick linen wrap and a beauty !

measurements on a sz 6 post-wash are:
length:  4.95 m
width:   0.68 m
weight: 950 g
-> 191.92 g/m
-> 282.23 g/m2

dschungel / jungle

release date: 30/11/2011
limited release in size 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, doll wrap
price: 99 € for a sz 6

the last wrap being released in november was dschungel / jungle. it is a three-colored all cotton wrap in a deep orange (more terracotta like in ringelblume / calendula), deep red and a light thread. it has animals from africaon it – and a nightowl next to a smiling lion…maybe there have been two nightowls just seconds before.

the designer is like in nightowls mr. stadler and again he passed on the fees for the design to ccf-kinderhilfswerk, an organisation which is helping neglected children worldwide. thank you so much for this wonderful gesture !

measurements on a sz 6 post-wash are:
length:  m

this is such a cheery wrap and i can’t wait to show it to my big girl. i have to say that the pattern is nothing i would wear on my own clothes, but with toddlers you simply have to agree sometimes on a wrap, and i bet that this design will appeal to all kids.
