the pesci nebbia are some extraordinary fishies. the wrap was first presented on august, 7th on the german innatex fair near wiesbaden. so people were already waiting for the wrap as some vendors have given the information out.

pesci nebbia is the first wrap from didymos with plant-dyed linen. the yellow linen content is 40% and giving a nice contrast to the black cotton. the linen was dyed with a plant named reseda lutea, which can be commonly found in europe at warm and dry areas. if the wrap is washed with 40 or max. 50 degree celsius the color will stay the same and does not fade, so be careful and don’t wash your wrap with higher temperatures.

as plant dyeing is an extensive and expensive process the wrap is pricier than other linen wraps. it is mentioned that this is the first, but not the last plant-dyed wrap, so i’m looking forward to what didy is coming up with next.

note: the wrap is smelling really funny right out of the box, but the smell will fade after the first (or some ?) wash/es.

measurements were taken post-wash on a sz 6:

length: 4.89 m

weight: 680 g

width: 0.69 m

-> 136.55 g/m

-> 197.9 g/m2

the wrap is now washed once and ironed a few times, and of course you can still feel the difference between this new wrap and my already broken in grass and anthrazit hemp indios. if i compare them to each other you won’t see much of a difference:

grass hemp:

lenth: 4,98 m

weight: 740 g

width: 0.68 m

-> 148,59 g/m

-> 218.51 g/m2

anthrazit hemp:

length: 5.05 m

weight: 750 g

width: 0.68 m

-> 148.51 g/m

-> 218.4 g/m2

erba hemp:

length: 5.12 m

weight: 770 g

width: 67 cm

-> 150.39 g/m

-> 224.46 g/m2
all wraps are a sz 6 and measurements were taken post-wash and i don’t think that you can really distinguish the 6 g/m2 difference. imo those hemp wraps are just so so sooo wonderful, supportive, dense but yet moldable and great for toddlers as well as for newborns. there is nothing new that i can add to the comparison wrapping wise – if you love anthrazit or grass, you will also love erba. the color is the same as in nino auguri gemelli oder jim salvia, but it looks different due to the weaving pattern and/or the combination with white hemp threads. the hemp threads are as usual a bit ‘wild’ and more comparable with linen, but this is a wrap which will break in quick and easy. i’m sure you’ll enjoy it, too.

on the picture below you see indio grass hemp, indio erba hemp, jim salvia linen, nino auguri gemelli ramie/silk
