india stonegrey with 40% wool

release date: 12/04/2012
limited release in size 5, 6, 7 (?)
price: € 149  for a sz 6

60% cotton, 40% wool

this is already the third official didymos india release, but i will start with reviewing them because they are so especially gorgeous. india is a design from erin arnason from the usa that didymos has been woven (just a quick but important notice – be sure to hear and see much more from her and i bet it will all be amazingly beautiful. check out pavo textiles now and then)DSC_0944

india stonegrey with wool was released somewhen in the night and as far as i know only one retailer got the wraps. india is so soft in feel, on the thinner to medium side and beyond beautiful. i will get measurements soon, but please enjoy the pics together with india in anthracit, gold, natural (with 40% tussah silk) and the heavy-weight india natural 50% hemp:

juno’s pfau II

can i tell you that i’m still in love with this wrap ? i know that i’m biased, but it is so soft and still so supportive, has only some stretch, is easy to wrap with….and now that it is cold outside, i can wear my new scarf all day long.

the first batch is already sold out and today the second one arrived. they still had to be sewn into the ordered lengths, so they are a little late to the party. and if you are curious or interested in the wrap there are still some left at lichtmutter. and new to the site is that you can now pay with paypal as well.

1975 azur 40% wool

release date: 10/21/2012
limited release in size 2,  6, 7
price: 149 € for a sz 6

on a nice sunday late afternoon didymos decided to release 1975 azur with wool. this wrap was already very limited and given its gorgeous looks and the wool it was sold out in a couple of minutes.

when it arrived at my door i was already smitten with its charms. it is so very soft right out of the box. the winter white wool is a nice contrast to the azur blue cotton. after the first wash it is even softer and became more dense because the fibers fluffed up.

measurements were taken post-wash on a size 6:

what a wonderful surprise ! on my daughters birthday we find one of the most amazing didymos wraps online. the name was suggested on facebook on the didymos page and it fits really good.

olivia is really on the thicker side with estimated 250 g/m2. i will try to add my measurements later, but when i compare the wrap with other indios i can see certrainly a huge difference. the first thing that i noted was right after the wrap was delivered: didymos had to use additional tape to close the package.

the wrap had the same green that can also be found in yew or cypress with linen (on the pic ^^ you can see cypress, olivia and yew). but here it is combined with thick alpaca/wool threads in a dark brown. when you look from the side you can see that this is indeed a…well, hairy wrap. it does not feel soft at the beginning, and also after a first wash it is still on the rougher side. but i can remember that my other favorite wool indio (indio moss) did feel the same at first. indio moss got a lot of use and love and is so much softer, and i expect olivia to be the same.

lately we have been on vacation and olivia was one of the wraps i took with us for wrapping my girl. she has already around 18 kg and we used it also for longer periods where she fell asleep in it, and it was always very comfortable. it is hard for me to admit, but i might even prefer olivia over indio yew…but wait, i will just go so far and say that olivia is our green wrap for winter.

diva milano venezia diamante blu with 42% wool

release date: 12/2011
limited release in size 3.7 m, 4.2 m, 4.6 m, 5.2 m, 5.7 m
price: € 178 for a sz 4.6 m

last december i became curious about a new wrap brand named diva milano. they said that they produce high quality wraps in italy (in the same factory that produces for more than 30 yrs for wold famous fashion houeses), but they sell them in the beginning in russia.

currently they have three different patterns to choose from in all cotton or 42% wool /58% cotton. i have chosen a wool wrap for us named veneziano with three different thread colors: the warp is natural, and the weft alternating threads in blue and anthracite.

measurements were taken on a sz 5,2 m post-wash:

length: 5.69 m

width: 72 cm

weight: 740 g

-> 138.84 g/m

->192.83 g/m2

reindeer / rentiere with 45% alpaca

release date: 23/11/2011
limited release in size 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, doll wrap
price: 169 € for a sz 6

ok – before you continue to read be aware that i’m so freaking excited for this wrap, that i will spam this thread with everything: pics, my excitement and a little bit of the usual wrap geekiness.

the wrap was released yesterday afternoon and of course it has not arrived yet. so i don’t know how it feels and wraps…but i don’t care, i already love it to bits. this wonderful (rein)deer wrap has a very high amount of super soft baby alpaca wool: 45% in puder and anthracit, and 55% ecru cotton threads.

on the right side you can see small light pink deer – i don’t think that they have to be reindeer – surrounded with bigger deer in anthracit. to get this tri-colored effect you have on the wrong side a pink alpaca wool stripe with dark deer in it. a similar effect was already shown in the first labyrinth wrap.

i especially love that didymos did NOT chose seasonal colors (dark red, green,…) for this wrap, but neutral colors and mainly anthracit. so this wrap can be worn the whole year and is not a bit restricted to winter or christmas. i know, you don’t have to find yourself bound to a season, but personally i don’t wear the wooly snowflakes at the beach either.

now i really hope that this wrap will arrive tomorrow morning and then i will spam this thread so bad with pictures.

let the spam begin:

measurements on a sz 6 post-wash are:
length:  m
width:   m
weight: 740 g
-> g/m
-> g/m2

once upon a timed there was a mama deer (don’t correct me !!) and a papa deer. they loved each other so much that they had a tiny little baby deer. to everyones surprise baby deer was not grey like its parents, but had a beautiful pink fur:

the wrap is not as thin as i expected it to be, but nice medium thin/thick and already very soft. due to the three colors it sometimes seems to be more a brownish grey than anthracit, but i really love this effect.

ok, here is a rare action pic with this wonderful wrap. it hasn’t been washed before so this is not the tightest and best wrap job, but you might get the point why i looooove this wrap:
